I went to the ED for a popcorn kernel that was lodged in my throat. It had been stuck for 4 days and even though I was 500% sure it was a popcorn kernel, she couldn't see it with a tongue compressor (it was below my uvula) and it didn't show in an X-ray (because a popcorn kernel isn't dense enough to show), she told me I have a "sore throat" and that if I was "convinced" something was there to make an appointment with an ENT. I could not Eat, had very swollen lymph nodes and was in excruciating pain because it felt like a razor blade in my throat at all times whether I was swallowing or just breathing. Yet NONE of that was addressed, I could breath therefore I was fine, even though I hadn't been able to eat for 2 days due to the pain it caused and other foods getting caught up on the kernel. I ended up going to another hospital an hour away from my home and had EMERGENCY surgery to remove the kernel. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR!
